You really should! It's very true to the lore. Plus the rest of the game is great too.
I wish they'd make more games focused on drow and their actual society and culture. I find it awesomely refreshing that females are dominant in their culture as well. ..Not that I'm an extreme feminist or anything though.

If you get to playing Baldur's Gate II, make sure you get Viconia in your party, she's a female drow and a very interesting addition to the group (whom you can have a -very complicated- romanctic relationship with, as a male)!
